It's the day after Christmas, if you couldn't tell by the post date above... or
Boxing Day, as many call it.
I've got this week and next off of work. It's a good and bad time of year to take off, actually. On one hand, it allows you to spend some much needed time with friends and family, but on the other hand, because you are on vacation, other people may see it as a time for you to do odd-jobs, or otherwise keep yourself occupied. When all you really wanted to do was get some serious R&R.
Starting with Saturday, the 21st of December, I've not had one full day just to Joan and myself. Of course, she's not on vacation, but that's not really the point. Saturday, I started out in Des Moines (
WA not IA), and the first part of the day was spent partially hungover, waiting for any signs of the rest of the band for practice. It had been suggested that we practice Saturday, but no followthru, so
Pooky and I weren't absolutely sure if it was going down. It didn't.
Sunday I went with my mom Christmas shopping. Fascinating day of lots of shopping, but very little buying. I think lunch and a present for Dad (
from Mom) were about all that were purchased. Oh, and cards.
Monday I ran lots of errands. Chiropractor, Magnolia HiFi, to my parents to wrap gifts.
Tuesday was as close to peacefull alone-time as I got, and even that was interrupted by the delivery of my brand new TV (
courtesy of my parents, danke), and all the moving, cleaning, teardown and setup that goes along with a new piece of electronics.
Christmas... need I delve?
And that brings us up to today. I'm leaving for Seattle in 25m for band practice. And tomorrow we have a gig at Wazobia off-
Pioneer Square. Late.
Well, at least I'm enjoying Joan's new
PS2 and
Frequency. Apparently I'm good at it...
